Plein Air Painting: Art instructor Cecilia Sharma’s free watercolor workshop with demonstration and personal instruction. Get inspired from nature by painting in Plein air while learning to capture the illusion of light and depth in your landscape painting. There will be a demonstration of helpful techniques to discover basic shapes and forms in nature. Please bring the following: a set of 12 watercolor paints, a palette to mix colors on, brushes (3 watercolor brushes 1" flat. #12 round and # 6 round), cold pressed 140-lb watercolor paper (9x12, 12x14, or 12x16) - loose sheet taped to a board or watercolor block, pencils and erasers, and a light easel to carry or a small chair. Bring water, sunscreen, insect repellent, hat and comfortable shoes. If rain, will be held indoors with a gorgeous view of the Sudbury River. 11am–2pm

Complete Riverfest by celebrating the arrival of summer on the rivers with OARS and Musketaquid at the Old Manse. (269 Monument Street). 

Music: Music with Sawyer Lawson will entertain those who wish to picnic on the beautiful grounds of the Old Manse. 6:30pm

Illuminated Flotilla with Voices of the Earth Chorus: Paddle from the picnic up the Concord River. Boat rentals available from the South Bridge Boat House (978-369-9438, 486 Main St.). Boat put-in and take-out at Lowell Road launch recommended. To paddle with a group, contact Bill (508-397-0078, faddenwng@gmail.com). Bring your lanterns (directions to make one)!  8pm
